China - Art Projects at the school

All these have been done by 1-6th graders in the last 2 months and are only representative of the whole. I am so impressed, not only by the output, but also by the way the teacher calms the kids within a few minutes and gets their attention actively focused for a whole hour - then they become brilliant!!

colorwheel umbrellas suspended from the ceiling, brilliant butterflies and train collages - it's a riot of color and imagination all done by 5 year olds.

Last year's end of year project for all of elementary. a grid was placed and kids drew a card that represented a junction. They decided on the color and the direction they wanted their stripe to go (a limited length) This is the outcome.

I love it.

Another school project of folded paper. Very simple and just stunning.

A real focal point in the mainstairwell

I will miss this artistic abundance and the absolute joy it lends to the atmosphere of the school.

But it's time to move on!
